Screen doesn't live up when receiving notifications

It light up for some Notifications, like text messages. It doesn't for others, like emails. It happens, it's just inconsistent.

I have an HTC Titan.

Too bad the sensor is screwed then. Anything I can do about this?

If it's a regular thing and if it 'NEVER' lits up, then sending it to HTC (if you are within 1 year thing) is the best bet. Does your 'attentive phone' work fine? All 4 features of it?
