screen replacement

Hi,

The glass on my 928 cracked. I just changed the one in my 521 pretty easily. However, it appears the 928 won't really allow just changing the glass/digitizer. it's all glued together.

The entire display assembly is $130+, you can get a usable 928 for $200, so it doesn't really make much sense. Anybody had success just changing the glass as sold on EBay, etc. for $20?

You could try it out if you want or replace the device all together.

I purchased the $20 glass thinking I could replace the broken glass on my 928. Not only did I waste my money on the glass and T5 torx screw driver. I broke the lcd in the process of trying to separate the lcd from the glass! When they say it's glued, it's completed attached to the lcd. So from first hand experience, forget about just replacing the glass, not possible. You'll have to replace the lcd+glass assembly which costs $150 on ebay. Not worth the hassle when you can get a used 928 for $180. As much as I'll miss my 928, I ended up buying a new Ativ Odyssey for $85 as a temporary device until I can get an Icon for under $300.
