Screen won't go dark during call

My screen won't go dark during the call, and I couldn't find anything in the settings to turn it on again. I just ear-dialed someone in the middle of the night, while on phone, didn't know such thing could happen (my ears might be little too large but not elfish pointy-large). And no, it wasn't any of my close friends.. Any advice? I think that's after the update..

may be it's a bug, try restarting or soft reset your phone.

this sounds like an issue with the proximity sensor, do you use a screen protector? these have been known to cause problems with the sensor, which update are you referring to and what region are you from? as stated above a soft reset or a hard reset if soft reset does not work might resolve the issue, if not you may need to send phone in for repair

Did you try with a reboot?
This often happens when you update any app (install at times) which does make use of the proximity sensor.

Try to check if you have a screen protector it might be blocking in the proximity sensor in from of the phone. So you can remove and clean the surface of the phone. If not clean the screen properly, especially the topmost part. I hope it works. Cheers

I have been having the same problem. When I reboot the phone it temporarily fixes the issue, but at some point it starts doing it again. I'm running GDR3 on my Lumia, it only started this after GDR3 update.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Simple restart helped, but hopefully the issue doesn't come back as androsooner says
