For some reason I need to reset my Lumia 950XL, before thatmy SD card works fine. I have also set it to be encrypted.
While I reset my phone, it prompts me to choose if I wouldlike to leave the SD card untouched or I like to format it at the same time. Ichoose to leave it as is. But after I have everything restored, I go to AllSettings -> System -> Storage, I only see “This Device”!!!
How can I get my SD card back?

Before you reset your phone, did you disable encryption on your SD card? If no, then I'm afraid all your data is lost. To use your card, you will have to format it.

^ Agree did you enable Device Encryption before?

Settings>Update and Security>Device Encryption.

If you did, it ties your SD card to your phone so when you reset your phone it brought your SD card with it.
It's a security measure implemented to keep your data secure.

Yes, I enabled device encryption.

But the problem now is that the phone does not even know there is a sd card.

I accept that reality my data will be lost. But I want to use my sd card again.

Actually the phone shows the card under file Explorer but it can not open it because it is bitlocker encrypted. The only way to reuse the card is to reset the micro sd card using your pc- special software required.

If you are unable to format the card using your phone, you will have to use a computer to do it.
