SD card error scan

My phone has been prompting me to scan my SD card for errors. I tried it once and everything in my SD card disappeared. The card wasn't even visible in the Storage section. I immediately did a soft reset and everything went back to normal, but the apps I have installed on the SD card sometimes don't work, even after reinstalling them. The question is: was this thing normal (that the SD card disappeared)? Should I run a scan again and let the phone do its job and everything will reappear again?

Hi, there's obviously some issue with the SD card. I would backup what you can and then let the scan do it's job. If you continue to get problems then look to replace the SD card.
