"Search" using a lot of battery

I've been trying to get a handle on battery usage on my new-to-me 950XL dual-sim and I noticed last night that the biggest battery user was "Search" (at something like 32%) and that over 60% of that usage was background.

What exactly is "Search" as an app and why so much battery usage in the background? Also, there's no toggle to turn off permission to run in the background for that app.

Are others seeing "Search" show up as the biggest battery user?

I believe that's what cortana used to be listed as. I don't see it in my usage history at all anymore though.

Might want to consider a hard reset if you've never done one.

I did a hard reset only last Saturday evening. And I'd never noticed Search until last night. It's not really a problem, as standby battery usage is quite good since a soft reset (which I did a few days after the hard reset). Just a curiosity.
