Should I upgrade to Windows 8.1? (for my PC)

Hi. I am currently using Windows 7 32 bit os in my pc, now I wanna upgrade to a 64 bit os, and i wanna try out the Windows 8 for the first time. Now my main question is should I upgrade to Windows 8.1 or should I only upgrade to Windows 8? Plz help me decide guys... And should I directly upgrade to Windows 8.1 before installing windows 8 (if i can)?

Additional info: I frequently use softwares like Adobe Photoshop cs6 and i also use my pc for video editing, and im a hardcore gamer!

If you don't have a touchscreen, I recommend going for Win8.1. If you do have a touchscreen, I'd still tell you to go for Win8.1!

Point is, 8.1 solves a lot of perceived problems in Win8.

Upgrade to a windows 8.1 pro or enterprise version...its a lot user friendly UI and feature packed Os.. Moreover the issues regarding mouse and other synptics pointing devices and various other performance issues got fixed and Microsoft seems to end support for win 8....but no official declaration has been made...hence go for 8.1 you wont regret it

Ya i think thats a good idea since i dont have any touch screens But is the OS too complicated to use for ppl like...my mother? :/

It's basically Windows 7. You just need to tell your mother where the Shut Down Button is. It's not hard.

My mom barely knows anything about how to use a PC yet she uses a laptop for 3 years now for watching movies and browsing the internet. She learned where the shut down button was very easy.
