According to the SDK ...
"For Me Tile personalization, the SDK allows setting the background color or image. The Band uses RGB565 image format, so all bitmaps will be converted to that (either implicitly or explicitly, depending on the platform) before being sent to the Band."

I'm pretty sure RGB565 allows for an alpha channel... so it should work. Keep us posted

I just googled wrist xray. Band Buddy on iOS let me pan and crop which was nice. The resulting image on my wrist looks more interesting than the wallpaper on it's own.

Unfortunately, when you use a PNG, the transparent portion of the image displays as black on the band.
