Sim card missing/invalid

Hi!
So I got myself a Nokia Lumia 920 in March of this year. Everything worked fine. Suddenly, as of this month, it randomly displays the message "sim card missing/invalid".
I'd say it does this once a day. I usually switch off the phone and switch it on again. It gets back to normal this way. But sometimes I need to keep switching it off, 3-4 times for it to work again. I have not changed my sim or anything.
I don't know what the problem is. Anyone having similar problems?

Try using a different sim card in the 920 and use it for a day to see if you get that error.
Try putting your sim in another phone.

Rub the golden chip of the sim with a pencil eraser, it cleans up the connections. (Ensure you do it carefully), check your sim for physical damages if any.

You can always ask for a replacement sim at your providers shop.

Hey Mate,

I had the same issue about 2 months ago. I ended up sending my Lumia 920 back to Harvey Norman's and they gave me a new one. Although, I did find that if i set the phone to 2G only, the sim error didn't happen any more.

I set it via ##3282# under the settings option and selected 2G.

Regards,
Alex

Invalid sim message indicates that your Nokia Lumia 920 is locked with your current network . Make sure that your phone accept other network mobile sim cards. If no, you need to unlock it from your servcie provider or from any of the online vendors like MobileUnlockSolutions.com to unlock it . After unlocking your phone, you can use any other sim cards with it .
