Site is wreaking havoc in Chrome

What's going on with Windowscentral site coding? Quite often, it cause my computer to run slow because memory allocation is a runaway when I'm on the site doing specific things. This morning, I was trying to do a search in the forums and both times resources exceeded 1GB. For this screenshot, I restarted Chrome and navigated back to the forum to run a search. What gives?

Side note. I'm watching the task manager as I write this post and things seem to be fine for now.

I think there may have been some server issues today that affected some of our sites. There is chatter in the back channels, but it isn't universal across time zones and not relegated to one Mobile Nations site.

I had some issues earlier, but they seem to have cleared up as well.

Why? I dunno. But you probably didn't imagine it. LOL
