I never used Skype for a long time but someone I know started chatting with me a lot through it. Problem is sometimes I don't get messages. For instance I got a message at 11:08 this morning. I responded instantly. 11:18 I sent another message and 3 that they sent appeared.

Why does this happen? It happens on Skype for windows 8 on my desktop as well.

Hi Zokudu

when you use Skype on multiple devices please sign in to all of them using your MSA username/password.
The large lag between sending and receiving messages is due to Skype being built on a P2P stack which is now being replaced with a more robust cloud based technology stack.

when using P2P , both the sender and receiver both have to be available at the same time. So if you send a message to your friend and he is not online or has network issues and then he comes online as you drop off. He will not get the message, he then send a message to you. but as your not online again it doesn't get delivered.
minutes/hours go by and you are both online and the messages all get delivered at once which can sometimes cause confusion.

By using the MSA username/password you will automatically be moved to the newer messaging backend.

Until this change has fully been pushed live I can only suggest using MSA sign-in for both Desktop and Phone which should help the syncing a lot better.
Hope the above helps.

I'll give that a try. I setup Skype on this phone before I combined my Skype and MSA. I'll be sure to adjust my windows 8 Skype as well.
