Sleep Slowdown

Greetings all,

I'm not sure what the root of this problem is but whenever the Surface Pro 4 goes to sleep (whether by timeout, pushing the power button or closing the lid), I'll turn it back on and try to play a game but for some reason the computer doesn't work to full capacity and I get really slow framerates; the only way to fix this is to restart the computer. I have the i5 8gb Ram SP4. Any thoughts?
