Slow charging battery

So has anybody solved the mystery of the shockingly slow battery charging issue on WM10? I didn't start experiencing it (and getting the notification) until my fourth day after the upgrade on my 830. Somebody is REALLY testing my patience with this phone. Always one step up and two steps back it seems.

The issue wasn't Windows 10 Mobile for me. It was just the phone. I had the same issue with my Lumia 520 over time. And also a few Android phones. The microUSB port becomes stripped after continuous usage and slowly stops working properly. My workaround was just wireless charging which I tried using most of the time anyways. I also saw better reliability when using the charger that came with the phone. It's those darned nubs on the microUSB heads. Hopefully USB Type-C won't have those issues because it's really annoying.

99% of my charging on this phone has been wireless, so it seems unlikely that I've worn out the port. I just happen to be on vacation so I don't have my dock. I did a reboot, didn't get the notification when I plugged it in last night. But after 8 hours, it only got up to 85%.

It appears that 85% is the best I can hope for charge-wise. Maybe I'll look for a new battery. If nothing else I can keep it on me while traveling. I used to do that with my Palm Pre back in the day.
