Snapdragon 801 Support?

So today, the Sony Xperia Z2 was announced, with the Snapdragon 801. The 801 is basically a 800, with a better clock rate. This isn't the S805, which is a pretty big upgrade from the 800.

So my question is to you, will the S801 be in the new upcoming WP8.1 devices? Maybe we will be surprised and get the 805 chips? Or just get the 800? Let us know by replying to this thread, and take the poll!

I voted 805 but I doubt it. WP8.1 is so close to market intro that I'm sure hardware for the first batch has been chosen. I think I read where the 805 won't be available until mid 2014. Just my guess.

I'm expecting 801, since the 805 seems like it is target towards tablets. If WP8.1 actually supports 2K resolution, wouldn't be surprised if whatever device uses that ends up using the 805 though.

WP 8.1 does support 2560 x 1440p so I think that newer processors will also be in the pipeline too.

I don't think it is just the 2K resolution, it is also better image processing, faster clock rate and speeds, more efficient, etc.

I'm sure WP8.1 will get devices with the S805 chip, but not the devices announced in April.

Voted for 805 because I want that, read later what you meant.
But tbh I think they will stuck with 800 for a long time, then when the time comes for something refreshing they'll probably go with a 805 or something better (if something better comes out).

At this point, I think regardless of chip, all 800+ phones will be future proofed through WP9 at the very least.

I hope & want the Tegra K1 chip support. That is highly unlikely to occur. So, Snapdragon 805 it is.

What would be best, is if Microsoft could find some sort of tool for allowing the chip manufacturer to do the optimisation themselves. So (like Android) the chipset OEM does that hardwork, and then the phone OEMs can just pick and choose a chipset.
