I was in Best Buy (big box electronics retailer in the US) and they have a dedicated Samsung floor space. The hype was all about how productive you can be on Android.

Google has been trying to push Chromebook out to education.

They want to capture the work side of people's lives now that they dominate the play side.

You can bet googles merged os will give very little thought to security . I don't think googles store filled with touch based phone apps is going to translate to a acceptable user experience on the desktop . Everybody wants to converge mobile and desktop but it seems only Microsoft has really thought this out
