So you want a SIM free Lumia 920? Here's how...

The more I look at this the more I think perhaps I should just pay for the EE contract and be done with it. Total cost of EE 1GB & unlimited calls + text on 12 month contract is ?661.

Lumia 920 PAYG = ?470 + ?10 top up x 12 = ?590
Thats a saving of ?71 or nearly ?6 a month

T-Mobile will also sell the Lumia 920 but on their full monty ?36 plan on 24 months + ?49 for the phone = ?913

Tmobile are doing me a Lumia 920 at ?32 a month + ?29.99 for the phone =? 797.99

EE Handsets I can confirm are running a different firmware with a different simlock file.

Re: Shambles 920 launch from Nokia UK

Feel exactly the same way. I've had so many Nokia phones over the past 15 years, it's a shame Nokia makes it so hard for loyal customers (or anyone else) to buy their phones. I spent roughly 6 hours speaking to all sorts at EE, Orange, Phones4U etc...trying my luck getting an unlock code, to no avail. And yes, even to this date, if I go to my local shop in Islington, Phones4U staff still believe it's fully unlocked...shame shame shame...

So whats the problem with English "operators" ? SIM FREE always mean SIM FREE and phone should be able to use ANY mobile sim...

Anyway, just example - There in Poland 100% brand new SIM FREE Lumia 920 (from Nokia store) cost around 460-480 GBP
and I'm sure there are more countries in EU which is so easy to get that phone...:winktongue:

eMDeLABS if you can get lumias truly unlocked in Poland at that price get a load bought and flog them on eBay to the uk you would make a killing lol

In the UK Expansys are expecting Sim Free stock in 5 days and Clove have the white version available to pre-order and expect stock on 5th December.

Use www.gsmnation.com :) its the cheapest even including shipping. And the handsets are fully unlocked!

Given that they are a US company, don't forget you WILL be liable for the 20% VAT upon the device reaching HM Customs & Excise. Also, presumably from a US company these will be US, not European models, and so won't have the European LTE bands.

Clove and Expansys are offering UK Nokia stock, and are both UK registered companies.
