Thanks a lot Muessig, I was looking for depth of field and it's effects for a long time and never understood it as simply as I did today (maybe I wan't trying hard enough). Great thread.

This (parts of it) will surely help me once I get my hands on a DSLR this birthday in November. Can't wait (for WP8.1).

Right the 1520 takes a 5mp and 19mp. Which one do we view when i look at the picture I took? Is it the 19mp or 5mp? I know you can only access one of them through PC

As a regular windows phone user who is interested in photography, this guide has given me the details and confidence to try and take good shots on my Lumia 1020.

Thank you very much!!

Great great post. Even though I've been using WP for over two years (920, 830, 720) I do come back here for quick reference. 👌

Having a problem with my Lumia 1020.
It seems that no matter what White balance setting I use I cannot - indoors - get accurate colors. I've also tinkered with the brightness, but that decrease saturation. And I never use a flash as that just even worse. My problem is that green in various degrees really invades the indoor photos, even if I use a professional lighting bulbs. Is there a setting / feature that might eliminate this? Whites are often served with noticeable albeit faint blue hues.

this looks to me like You're shooting with the flash and somehow blocking it by Your finger or something similar
