solved - trouble charging phone through USB

I couldn't get my phone to charge with the usb cable unless it was in just right. I thought usb C was just not as durable. I took a toothpick and pulled out some dust and lint in the charging port. I couldn't see it when I looked in and blew on it. I had to scratch it around to get it out. Now it clicks when it goes in and works every time. After 2 years it built up some junk in there. I did the same on my wife's iPhone and it also made her cables connect easier. Just putting it out there for others to regularly clean out the charging ports.
