Space used by system in wp 8.1 gdr 1

The system is taking 2.66 GB space can anyone share how much their phones space is used by system on their lumia

Mine is 2.7 GB on my 1520.

But this will also be bigger if you have a lot of apps installed on your phone. The OS needs to use some space to register these and uses some memory for workspace.

i'm thinking the other storage got moved into system...cause other shows 0 while system seems to differ with phone.... might be wrong, but just a wild guess

mine is 3.20 gb on a 930 on 8.1 without gdr1!

No, you're right. All they did was change the category other was classified as. They put it all in system and made "other" 0. Problem solved, right?...

I'm more surprised the masses hadn't caught on until recently. My system is 5.12GB and growing. But fyi, it's not 8.1's GDR1. This was a way earlier update that occurred when they "fixed" other. It's been the same since.

My L521 has 1.9 GB system and 1.9 other according to storage check but 2.91 GB system in phone storage. Why is there a difference?

mine takes up 3.7 gb.... Last night, it was just 2.3 gb. Increase of more than 1.4 gb in one night.. phew

Storage Sense on my Lumia 1020 with WP8.1 GDR+Black shows: System = 7.11 GB & Other = 0 MB...
