Speech recognition strangeness

I've had the following problem with my Lumia 900 for a couple of weeks now. If I am connected to a WiFi network then I can use speech to text functions perfectly (voice search in Bing and speech to text in Messaging hub). But if I turn WiFi off and use the cellular connection it finds nothing (it sits there saying 'thinking', but eventually times out with a message 'Can't access the network at the moment').

Anyone else have this?

Other data usage over cellular is completely fine.

I'm having the same problem with my 800. I'm on Orange UK and I can't seem to get it to work to work on the mobile network.

Have you had any luck yet? Luckily, Windows Phone 8 is released soon so won't be a problem for long!
