Star Post Count Indicators

When I set up the ranks, I didn't have large numbers in mind (since the forums were fairly quiet at the time). Now it seems as though we have a large group of active members so we'll need to recalculate the ranks. I'll be sending the stars to Adam for him to host on the Mobile Nation servers (to save my own bandwidth).

To give more incentive instead of everyone reaching the maximum rank quickly, do you want me to pop through them and bump them, Dave?

I've added the remaining stars and added temporary ranks for them, I've updated member ranks to reflect the changes (for those with 1000+ posts to use the newly added ranks) by running the vB job.

Sounds good I'm thinking the way these guys are posting we might want to make the middle around 1000 then go my by thousands from there. You know like 100, 200, 300, 500, 750, 1000 then by the thousands after that. If you want I can set that up if you don't have time. Then one of us needs to make an announcement in the Meta so everyone knows what's up. If these guys see there stars going down they will scream.

hey guys ,

just a little idea,

when a member hits the MAX RANK, would it be possible to grant them with some sort of * WP guru* title? even some minor titles on the way up while reaching some fix mile stones


i think it would give a great incentive/reason to continue participating in the forum and in return help grow the community?

The only thing I see as a drawback on that is it can lead to people posting just to up there post count. I would prefer to do something based of likes/ thank yous. All these contest type incentives can lead to some type of issue people get obsessed with this stuff. I wouldn't mind doing something like a Private forums for members that have more than so many posts. Those hidden forums are allot of fun its a nice place for people to cut loose.

P.S. no one will ever get to the last star I have it set to something like 10,000 posts I think.
