IN mango do we have the capability to add a picture to the background? Like we have in the marketplace or zune.

No, just the usual lock screen. I would never want this feature personally, i like having my app tiles nice and clear without the distraction of background images there.

It would be a bit pointless being able to add a background picture to the start screen as the live tiles take up most of the screen real estate.

They are OK in the Marketplace and Pictures sections though.

You can at least pick a picture to be in your pictures hub background and on the live tile. Better than nothing i guess!
