Stop using Youtube for videos

It might be a standard for Mobile Nations, but WPCentral should consider using a different video service for posting videos in their articles. We all know Google's insisting of ignoring WP as much as possible, so why support them? I would imagine there is nothing in the blog system that only allows Youtube videos.

I know Youtube can't totally be ignored by any means, but this seems like one area where it could be.

For me there is no problem watching YouTube videos. I use metro tube and its fine.

I know but that's not the point.

The point is to avoid using Google products on WPCentral when possible.

Vimeo for one.

I am guessing this will never happen though since Mobile Nations would want the ad money from people watching directly from Youtube....

The highest priority is reaching the largest audience out there, then YouTube is the best. It has the largest video audience, with billion users per day

I agree with the OP. Since Google is boycotting (harassing, making use difficult, blah blah blah) Windows Phone, a Windows Phone site should use an alternative service for video, ad revenue, etc. We shouldn't be enriching them, and that is one of the reasons I switched my email to outlook.com.

Maybe it would make some sense if Microsoft's official Windows Phone channel wasn't on YouTube.

Maybe offer 2 options so those that want to be flag bearers for this format can and the rest of us normal folk can just plug away.
