Story filters not working

Quite often, when I click on the story filters at the top of the page, I find that the stories I am presented with are somewhat out of date. For instance, today when clicking on 'Phone' the most up to date story is from two days ago. I have tried this on both Chrome & Firefox & got the same result. I am using a desktop PC running windows 8.

Strange. Just tested those filters and they seem to pull up the most recent stories just fine!

We have pushed a number of updates to the site recently, so try clearing your browser cache and try again. Let me know if that fixes it!

Hello James. Thanks for getting back to me. No luck here I'm afraid, just tried again & they're still two days out of date. Latest story I'm getting is the 'Lumia 530 available for just ?49.95 at Carphone Warehouse' story from 09:55 on 23 Oct 14. It's odd that things have moved on but I remain two days out of date. I'm in Britain, could this be affecting it. I didn't think the clearing of the data would help anyway because I was getting the same result on two different browsers. For good measure I just fired up IE & got the same result. And then I went the extra mile & tried it through Chrome on my Nexus 10 tablet & got the same again. Weird!

Hello James. In a nutshell, no I'm not. This issue is peculiar to your site. In order to test this further I have acceessed the site from a PC in the office where I work. This is an entirely unrelated system and yet the same issue is manifesting itself. Today I have gone on to the Windows Central home page, I have clicked on the 'Phones' filter button and the articles listed are 4 days old and older. The article that comes up first is "Cricket Wireless to launch the cyan Lumia 635 on November 7" from the 3rd of November.

I wonder if anyone else in UK is having this issue?

Cheers

PS Sorry for the delay in getting back

I wonder that myself. If you can email me with the details, I'm going to loop in one of our UK volunteers to lend a hand. Hopefully we can test and find out what's going on here :)

Once again James, sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

The situation remains the same, in as much as a press of the 'phones' button does not bring up the latest Windows Phone stories. However, I have taken a closer look at this today. It seems to me that it's because the filter isn't actually picking up all the Windows Phone related stories, only certain ones. At the top of each story is a grey box indicating the subject matter e.g. Xbox, Microsoft News, or Windows Games etc. I've noticed that the filter only brings up stories headed 'Windows Phones.' It completely ignores those headed 'Windows Phone Games', or 'Windows Phone News', or 'Window Phone Apps' etc. These should be included too. I thought the filter was there so that people who were only interested in, say, Windows Phones could filter all the other stuff out, but in using this button we are filtering out the bulk of the Phone news too!!
