Strange battery readings

I get some weird battery readings - it started sometime after Amber update.

As far as I can tell the battery actually holds more or less as usual - full day of regular usage, but the gauges show lowered values (even when charging), as shown on screenshots below.

Any ideas what might be causing it? It is getting a bit annoying to say the least.

Do a soft reset, let your battery fall to 0%, charge using official charger to 100% in 1 stroke and let me know if that sorts out.

Well, I physically removed the battery, dusted the connectors and it seems to be working correctly now. Weird though.

i just poated about the same problem on my new 820 in WP8 forums.
mine had reached 71%.sqitched my cell off and then on...it was back to 91% !!

problem is with only 820 or firmware ?

So the problem is back after overnight charging... It was OK for a few days and now I have the same odd readings. :-(

Can't say alot about the battery apks I have had. Accurate readings seem to be a dream. At least the one I have now does not drain the battery down like the other three I had did. Only problem with this one is it will say it will take an hour and a half or more to recharge and it never takes more than an hour. I have never understood why all phones don't come with a battery charge indicater apk. Most tablets do, guest it does not matter as it seems like what is happening is the nature of the beast. Maybe thats why they don't come with one to start with.

It is not the app itself - system battery indicator (the one on top bar and the one in system settings for battery saving) also shows that wrong reading. It's as if the hardware sensor was broken, but it only started after Amber update, so I don't know what to think. It plays nice when I don't keep it plugged in after it is fully charged, at least so far.
