stream music from pc to phone via wifi?

new to WP, have a lumia 925. is there anyway to stream my windows media player library from my pc to my phone via wifi so i can listen to my entire library anywhere in the house without having to store it, similar to how iOS does it with itunes? that would be cool to do if possible.

You can always use PLEX media player. It is cross platform and you can access pictures and videos as well.

WMP supports dlna natively, so you can use something like Av remote to browse and play music/videos from your library.

Did you have the DLNA server set up on your laptop? I'm assuming that's necessary for it to work but I could be wrong.

Just to provide some help to anyone else. You didn't mention what type of PC you were using so here some instructions for all Windows OS.

I also use the Smart Player app that is linked above in post 2, it works just fine for this
