So. I am posting this from my Surface RT using a stylus and the handwriting recognition keyboard. Does anyone else do this regularly? Does it work well for you? Or is it too cumbersome for regular use?

It seems to recognize my horrible cursive pretty easily, but the recognition seems kinda slow.

I found that it is just to hard to use. Not being able to rest your hand on the screen all the time stinks...

well, it seems to work in portrait mode OK. Although the writing area is a lot smaller. But yeah, the threat of hitting the Windows button is a pain.

I actually just ordered a mesh stylus for school. im really digging the idea of having my handwriting/drawings in my onenote books as well

I planned to use my stylus for that when I bought it, but then I got my Touchcover, and after that I have never use my stylus for handwriting.

An ikross something or other. It has both a ball point and a capacitive tip.

Working at Geek Squad, Webroot gives us free mesh stylus/ballpoint pen combos. They work awesome, I have yet to get my own since im still new, but have used others and its nice!
