Sudden battery drain

Well, today I was working away with 30% battery available. Then all of a sudden a warning message popped up saying I had 7% bat life left and before I could reach for the plug the system either went into hibernate or shutdown? It took two reboots to get the wifi working properly again.

I have never experienced such a drastic power reduction, prior to last weeks update (30% to 7%) in a few seconds!

Did you read the message? It may have said your battery is draining at a rate of 7% per hour (based on the task you were doing at the time). Or maybe you are right.
 
I've been having the same problem! It's either a battery problem or something with Windows.

I have also noticed that since the last firmware update in mid-August, the CPU is very busy in Connected Standby. The result is that I can see in sleep study report the following information what causes me to lose about 11 percent of battery in an hour. It is the CPU running all the time ...
