So a client heard I love MSFT and asked me if I want his Surface 2 RT 32GB, bought to his daughter who later discovered she prefered iPad.

He then asked me if I would like to grab it... But, as everybody knows, there is no such thing as a free meal on the business world.

Question is... Does it worth it? I mean, I have a Lenovo x220... 148 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM, i5... I would use the Surface 2 (with touch cover) as a tablet and etc. Any one uses it for that purpose? Should I grab it or pass?

I had a Surface 1 Pro before, but sold to gather money to move to Canada and because I used to work on my bed (yeah, lazy ****) and I could not manage to use the Surface on my lap.

I personally love the Surface 2. RT has never really bothered me in the least and I find the Surface 2 capable for a variety of things. It's a great companion tablet.

I did, however, give the Surface 2 to my wife as I picked up a 128gb Core i5 Surface Pro 3 (which I'm totally in love with).

So.... You still haven't told us.... What's the catch?

Is it free??? Like he's just going to GIVE it to you?

For the record , I LOVE my Surface 2 32GB! I have the backlit Type Cover 2, and use it every night (in bed ;) ) to read the news, surf the web, watch movies (PLEX) and play games (Right now, I'm on Modern Combat 5: Blackout)

Windows RT on the Surface 2 runs everything I need it to, and to me, is the perfect tablet OS!

I don't know the catch yet, but I'm a digital marketing consultant, and he owns a public relations firm, so he will probably ask me to give my 2 cents on some stuff or join him for a couple of meetings.

I wouldn't mind to do so, but I just wanna know the stuff really worth the effort.

Do you know if I will be able to install Threshold on it?

In my case, a Surface 2 would be welcome, as I would have plenty of use for it, but the thing is, whats the price? You can't judge it.
but I'd say its worth it if the price is low enough, whether in menial work, or actual money.

I bought my wife one (I have the original Surface Pro) and I have to say as a tablet the Surface 2 is probably a more useful tablet, it's lighter and has far better battery life.

My understanding of RT compared to full blown Windows tablets (The Pro's) is you are limited to installing Apps from the store, and you can't install full programs.

And the answer to your main question of is it worth it, unfortunately only you can answer that, as only you know the price/value you place on your time.
