Surface 3 64 GB Freezes / Hangs

Newly purchased surface 3 64GB hangs randomly a lot. I tried upgrading it to Windows 10, but the issue persists. Any suggestions to overcome this issue?

I would definitely contact the Microsoft store to make sure you don't have a defect or to check on the warranty.
That being said, did you:
1. Check Task Manager to see what is causing the issue? It will help you find out what process is taking your resources.
2. Are you checking for viruses?
3. Can you reset the system? This would take you back to the state when you bought the device.
