Surface pro 3 64gb won't turn on

My Surface pro 3 doesn't turn on it seems. The charger led is on and when I do the resets it flashes.
I also plugged in an external hard drive and when I pressed the power button, the hard drive starts up but then turns off after about 5 seconds.

So it must be trying to start, then doesn't. Anyone out there with similar experience?

unplug all connected peripherals... solved some freak issues on my SP3 in the past...
