Surface pro 3 type cover utility keys

I don't know if it was due to the update but now i have to press the Fn key in order to change the brightness of my keyboard, mute, search etc. Right now if i dont hold the Fn keys it registers it as F1-12. I tried looking for options in pc settings but i cant seem to find a solution to change it back.

Is this just me? Does anybody know where i can change it back to how it originally was before?

hold Fn + Caps Lock to enable F1 to F12 turn on
hold Fn + Caps Lock to disable F1 to F12 turn off
