I saw many posts asking about Fn key on Surface Book/Pro/Laptop models and how to keep it enabled all the time. Here is what I found.
Temporary use: To use F1..F12, you may hold Fn + the function key that you want to use. This doesn't lock the Fn key.
Permanent use: Push Fn one time and notice the light on. Now you can directly use F1..F12 until you toggle the Fn key again.
NOTE: The light will turn off after sometime which is the main cause of the confusion. It doesn't mean Fn key is OFF. It is still ON. Just use any of the F1..F12 ignoring the light being on or off. The light will come back ON right after you push any of the function keys.
