Surface won't recognize Lumia Icon: how do I fix it?

Just switched from Android to the Lumia Icon and my surface at first recognized my phone but it won't show up in the file manager now. Any idea what I could do?

Restart your Surface, and uninstall the drivers for your Lumia. Check if it allows a USB data connection, too. And, you should also reboot your phone as well, just in case it's a problem with the Icon.

Also, in case other people run into this problem and don't have a fix...

I learned the hard way... Not all microUSB-to-USB cables can transfer data. I thought all the cables were the same. But some of those cables are only good for charging. And the Nokia documents back that up. I didn't believe it until I tried it. With some of my cables, my phone would not be recognized at all.
