Long press on the number 1 is the closest thing you'll find. Most Android phones are the same as far as I'm aware.

Not exactly intuitive, but that still only opens voice mail for my first sim card.

I saw some old videos online that showed a voice mail button in android but I guess they did away with that at some point.

I found a (somewhat) easy way to get this done:
  1. Get the old contacts+message backup from the Windows Store
  2. Run contacts+message backup (by clicking Open in the Store) and backup SMS/MMS
  3. Copy the file (found on SD Card) from WP to Android phone (I used OneDrive)
  4. Install VMG Converter from Play store
  5. Run VMG Converter, click the Path button, then select Auto
  6. It should find all the files you copied and will import all messages if you pay $2 for full version

One of my friend switched from samsung s8 to One Plus 5T after 1 year of usage.
1+ have fast charging capacity.
It has snapdragon 835 processor, a 6-inch OLED screen with minimal bezels and a robust 6GB of RAM which are more valuable then s8.
And yes price is also a matter when comparing these two.
Google pixel 2 can be also handy.
Moto G5 plus is another budget android phone.
