Is it just me, or is it a lot harder to get the keyboard to recognize what word you're trying to type than it was on 8.1?

Yup but i think with my phone 535 a post of that is scaling issues as most games Are still not playable. The random capitalizing of words is really frustrating to.

On the other hand Swype is now supported on many more languages than on WP8.1, so I am happy. :)

Swype is highly inaccurate now. It worked like a charm on 8.1. But i guess it will be rectified soon when microsoft starts its final bug squashing and polishing the os thingy.

Not just you (unless my fingers and brain started declining at around the time I upgraded...) My observations/opinions/FACTS:

1. It's noticeably slower. Even with shape-writing, I'm a pretty slow typist - yet I still find myself waiting after swooshing out a bunch of letters, for the interpreter to catch up with me and make a guess.

2. Its guesses, when they come, are worse. Sometimes out of curiosity, or an urge to improve my typing speed, or whatever, I'll re-swoosh a word that the interpreter guessed wrong on, and I'll be WAY more careful about it. When I'd do this on 8.1, the guess of the re-entered word would almost always be correct; in W10, it's a crapshoot. (My hunch, based on zero data like all good hunches, is that they've tweaked the "guessing" algorithm to give more statistical weight to more common words, regardless of what letters were actually hit - so no matter how hyper-carefully I type the word "f-o-r-e," it's going to assume that I mis-typed "f-o-r." I don't think that's entirely new behavior, but I think it's been turned up a little for WP10.

Of course, I *did* get a year older in the same time-frame, so we can't rule out user error entirely :-)

I agree, it's definitely declined in accuracy. Also I noticed that sometimes, after tracing a word, the blue trace stays on the screen.

I've also noticed that it seems to be connected to my Facebook account, because almost every word I type turns into somebody's name. This get's really annoying when you are trying to type a quick text message to someone and you end up saying something unintelligible cause there's just a bunch of names in there.

Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed the keyboard problems then!

the traces of the gesture wont disappear for me either sometimes but this problem was there from win8.1 for me. Infact it seems to have reduced in tp but maybe its because i am not using the swype gesture too frequently now.

FYI its called Wordflow and yes, it's mad sluggish.

I thought word flow was the predictive text, where it would suggest the next word you should type?

Side game: Write a sentence entirely by clicking only on the first suggested word. See what comes out. My friend and I will sometimes do this back and forth

Typing generally is often laggy on my 1520, which in swype typing it'll lag and just type the first letter. Not always, just sometimes, which is worse imo. Also it likes to capitalize Random words In mid-sentence. Dunno what's the dill-yo.
