Taking pictures/videos with touch-screen stopped working...

I can now only take photos with the physical button.

Does that part of the screen work fine in other apps?

Try a soft-reset (Hold volume down + power buttons simultaneously until your phone vibrates) and see if it helps ...

Which app are you using?
It works only in default camera ap and not in pro cam or smart can.
If its not working in default camera app then
Go to settings-> applications -> photos + camera and confirm whether the option is checked
