Text messages I send are scrambled, is this my phone or my network?

[Windows Central Question]

I am using a Nokia Lumia 520, which is usually great.
But sometimes I send a message only to find that the recipient receives something completely different, a jumble of half sentences from previous messages for no obvious reason?!

If anyone can shed some light I would greatly appreciate it.

I'd say it is the carrier. SMS is notoriously full of errors. Never received for days, garbled, what have you.
