Text messaging from desktop: Implemented yet?

I just installed Windows 10 mobile (v10586.107) and I wanted to try to send a text message from my desktop through my phone to my friends. I could have sworn that I saw an article on Windows Central that explained how to connect my desktop and mobile through Cortana, but I can't seem to find it now.

Did I imagine this? Is the texting feature not implemented yet?

I was thinking it would be really great if my desktop were to inform me when I received a new message or missed a call since I hardly check my phone.

Works fine in the UK, what phone do you have, I believe this only works with Windows phones and they have to be on 10 as well.

Cool! I was able to send messages from my desktop, but I don't see any alerts on my desktop when I receive a text message.

hrmm -- I have to send the messages through cortana and can be very tedious picking the person's name time and time again and not rly being able to see more than 1 line of txt while sending... I wish the 'messaging' app were better designed.
