My friend has an android and was showing me how she texts using swipe.

I dont have it on my Lumia 710.

Will WP8 have this feature?

Its an app for android, not a feature persay. You'd have to contact the devs for swipe if they will bring it. In my experience the default wp keyboard is so much better than androids that there isn't (for me) a need for multiple input styles.

no it's a kind of feature because the keyboard api has to be "open".

In wp7 a dev doesn't have access to the keyboard and therefore can't implement an app with swype functionality.

I expressed this to one of the Microsoft marketing managers named James. I explained that it was the one feature I had on Android that I liked and helped me give up a physical keyboard. He said he would pass the word along, and based on our conversation, I believe he will.

Now based on the SDK leak in July, I think it's going to be technically possible to develop Swype for WP8 going forward, but it's just a question of whether Swype will take the time and interest or not. It would be an attractor for Android users for sure.

I would prefer SwiftKey 3 and would rather see WP8 get that type of input over Swype.
