The best memory type for windows phone

I have been experimenting with my phone to see the reason for high battery usage. For more than a week the battery usage has been maximum of 1.7% per hour. This is after I reset and moved all the memory contents to my laptop.
Yesterday when I put the contents back the usage has shot up to 2.75% per hour. This has led me to believe either the 8GB memory card is faulty or the phone uses more battery to scan the contents. Let me also add that the photos, music and videos take only 4GB of the memory card.
Has any of you here seen this?

Let me also add that my phone is Lumia 720 running Windows Phone 8.1

Of course the phones uses battery power to access the memory card.
Unfortunately physics dictates that you don't get anything for free. I would stop obssessing about the battery. It seems to be a growing trend with WP users.
All users will get different discharge rates. Even if the same programs are on 2 phones, they would not perform the same.

WP does a lot of things in the background, without user interaction. this cannot be predicted, so just enjoy your phone. It will stop a lot of sleepless nights....

BTW the best memory type is class 10.
