It captues in 720p which is HD, just not full HD. The problem is actually in the compression. I just checked the filesize of one video I have on my PC that I've made on the X1 and then downloade it through Skydriv to my PC. When a 2? minute video is less than 80mb, there is your answer.
I do a lot YouTube uploading about a game I play on PC. I've recently used MSI Afterburner for testing purposes and I have a clip here that is just 36s long but it's 230mb in size. Now that is already compressed quite a bit by the recording software, first of all only recording at 30 fps (while game runs at 60), quality is set to 70% in the recording software etc. Although given, the game runs in 1080p on my PC but isn't graphically really anywhere as good as Titanfall on X1, for example.
Even direct YouTube uploading from X1 isn't much better, although it suffers a bit less when you elminate SkyDrive compressing it.
