Haven't had time to go through SDK, but is there finally an option for text message content NOT to show on lock screen?

There's always been that option: settings -> lock screen -> 'choose an app to show detailed status' and there pick 'none' or something else.

Is there USB OTG?

I found out that now FM Radio is a separated app.
Also, there's now an option to switch to speaker the radio.

I really want to ask, if I use Preview for Developers Program to install WP8.1 update for my Lumia 925, can I still get the Nokia Cyan features when it comes to my country's carrier?

Yes, and when WP 8.1 hits GA then you'll get the final release as well.

A video just published on WPC front page confirms the same behaviour when Cortana isn't present on phone or set up. You get a routine one page search screen that all the non-US customers are so used to seeing currently. What will be interesting is if someone can check that the SDK recognises your region as non-USA because you aren't living for real in the US and then you switch the regions in emulator. I appreciate that in real life it will be real GPS and IP and it won't be same, but worth a shot to see if changing region to USA in non-USA phone works.

Changing region should work but that is also the thing i would be very happy if some one test it. It works now on non US phone( I have US region and Slovene language). So language on let's say Spanish and region on US.

U, u I have one, are start backgrounds APIs available, like for the lock screen where you can pick an app to be in control of it? Or is it closed and limited to preset colors and images only?

Something cool I found regarding the way 8.1 for app developing handles sharing. In addition to the traditional way of sharing (calling a shareTask from within code) now the app dev can sort of register his app to be able to share...ables. This could mean that an app could have deep system integration, even more robust than the previous iteration. This is cool because when I was developing my app, even though it was easy, calling a share task was cumbersome everywhere I needed it. Now you can select certain scenarios and objects your app can handle, and voila, as if the app was built into the system.

Regarding the region switch, I have taken the liberty to switch my Lumia 920 (which was bought in UAE) to different regions, and nothing changes, so I think it does go by GPS and IP, maybe there is way to trick the phone to believe it's in the USA, but surely cortana is smarter than that.

Hang in there as we discover more of her secrets. Among the systems too...

Your Lumia 920 doesn't have Cortana does it?or WP8.1?

no not at all. I was only doing some testing while doing some work, just curious, to see what happens. Tracking what happens in 8.0 so when update later, I can have notes to compare with.

What happens if we flash US region os onto it.... And do an OTA to 8.1 via dev preview ..will we be able to get cortana then......

this might be able to work, I really do want to test that. But I strongly think that cortana is hardcoded to understand where she is, and might be a software limitation, as she just would not show up with any settings I do.

No Bing Music on search screen. I find it beats the stuffing out of Shazam and is much faster to activate
