Thinking about getting either 930 or 1520?

Hello there Windows Phone users, I'm currently on 925, good phone but with many flaws. As a extreme user I usually have to charge my phone 2/3 times a day which can be irritating. My second issue is the green hue, soft pictures that are produced after post processing, very annoying. Finally, the sharp edges on 925 really dig into your palm, so I would like something more ergonomic, don't worry about size of the phone I have fairly big hands.

By mentioning the flaws of my current phone would hopefully help you guys give your opinion on what's right for me.

Thank you 😊

I think there is only one question.. Can you live without the Glance screen? if you can then go for the 930, but if you can't then the 1520 is for you...
Some other things to consider would be the pricing... And the size.

The 1520 has been out for a while so chance are you can find a moderately priced one.
The 930 is closer to the size of the 925

Pricing is not an issue, neither is glance screen. My major concern is battery life and camera. I'm also willing to wait till October if they're are better high end devices on their way.

Ok well the latest issues users have reported with the 930 were the phone was getting very hot..

Also if we mat believe the rumors then we may get new phones before the end of this year

I heard about the over heating, it's a shame Nokia wasn't able to blow peoples mind so far this year. I'm hoping for a phone with a better camera, battery life, lighter, slimmer, micro SD card slot, Snapdragon 805, and at least a FHD 5.0" IPS display rather than AMOLED. If it's going to be 1020 successor than I'm okay with it being as thick and heavy as 930 but I would like the sensor pixel size to be 1.4 micrometre rather than 1.12 and dual tone flash would be interesting.

where are you getting all this?

Expansys-USA.com now selling Lumia 930 for $699.99 | Windows Phone Central

Its a "global" version, that means around the world, USA is on the planet, buddy.

"While the phone is only supposed to be available in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, it looks like Expansys-USA.com got a hold of some of the devices from overseas and are now selling them to US customers unlocked and without a SIM card."

Now, if you get one and it works on your carrier, great. If it doesn't, you've been warned.

The SD Card Slot alone makes the 1520 a better choice.

Almost same specs for both.

Battery life is definitely better on the 1520 and there are benchmarks and real life users who can testify to this.

Size is the biggest deal breaker on the 1520 but if you can hold it with your hands then go for it. It's really better than the 930.

The 1520 is a great phone. I would definitely recommend. The battery, screen size and sd card slot were the standout features for me.

You'll be pleasantly surprised with the camera too. It produces shots almost as good as the 1020. And the screen makes for an awesome view of them too!

They are identical phones internally, so there's really only the screen size, battery and sd card slot to differentiate.

If they're all important to you, the 1520 is the choice to go with.

I recommend the 1520. It has almost double battery life as the 930, while their cameras are identical in specs. I have not noticed any green hues in my 1520 pictures, though they are a bit soft(might be fixed with the Cyan update). As for the sharp corners, the 1520's does dig into your palm a little, but it didn't hurt me. The 930's metallic corners look like they're going to hurt more.

The only issue with the 1520 is the size - it can fit only in large pockets. If you can adjust to that, the 1520 is the way to go. The 930 isn't that much smaller anyway.
