I have had no trouble with my 520 in the over two years I've had it.
Few things:
- yellow stain can appear in top corner of the screen - happened to me and is a common issue
- Dual SIM: data on SIM1 drops out if your SIM1 operator is on 2100MHz frequency and SIM2 is active
Otherwise a great cheap phone
Finally got my phone. Can anyone please help why I cant install Instagram? Upgraded to Windows 10 and Instagram install button is disabled. "To use this app youll need a device with more features." What features?![]()
As a 1320 user that moved to the 640 XL Dual Sim LTE version, I made a great decision. Awesome battery, sharp bright screen, lovely at times cameras and light weight. The W10m update made the user experience alittle. The phone is a must buy for new WM users.
I'm still using a 520 too. However I've found going to 8.1 meant that there are a lot more "resuming..." moments. Mostly after I've just closed a number of tabs that were open on the browser or after I've been using Here Drive+. Maybe both those apps leave vestiges in memory even after being closed.
Anyway, I've started thinking about upgrading to a 640 (LTE or XL) and was particularly interested in performance after a Win 10M upgrade.
Over here in NZ, aside from Microsoft, the other W10M phone manufacturers don't have much prescence.
Was using and even paid for 6tag for a couple of days now. Anyway, Instagram's also working now! A bit laggy compared to 6tag though. lol
Yeah, here's hoping that developers would catch up. Didn't mean to hijack your thread though, my apologies. That's good at least its somewhat working for you. Maybe they are working on a version that will run smoother in the next app update. Apps are trying to catch up with all the wp10 versions out there eg fast, slow, preview and production rings of the insider app and the official (production) builds.
Hello. Lumia 640XL user here.
I wanted to know how safe/risky is it to upgrade it to windows 10 mobile through the upgrade advisor aap(production ring)?
Its totally safe . I am using it on lumia 640xl and its running smooth. Windows 10 on my lumia 640xl runs better than my lumia650. There is no heating issues or nor any lag even battery is decent too
