This is Marketplace??

^ That's peculiar. :( It comes up when you search "time sheet". Maybe it's a region thing...

:(

Probably is a regional thing.. When I type in "time sheet" I get "salary calculator"

First off, I'm not the kinda person who likes to have their phone filled up with tons of apps so this isn't about which OS has more or who's better.. BUT there is very little quality over quantity in Marketplace. 90% of what I look for (and its practical things like tools or customization) is either broken, poorly rated, or simply not there. Calendar results are atrocious..why would that be? I type in "work schedule" and nothing shows up. I look for a different keyboard- maybe one with haptic feedback or larger keys..nothing. I want a location or WiFi toggle switch (that's not asking much, right?) all you get are links to settings. Type in "clocks"..all you get are alarm clocks. And there's very little to truly customize tiles or theme colors. Are you serious? The Metro UI is the BIGGEST selling point of wp7, the only thing you look at when you unlock your phone, and you can't customize it to your liking? The possibilities could be endless and amazing if you could. Can someone tell me why this is???

Work schedule = built in calendar? Different keyboards are not possible, but WP7 undoubtedly has the best soft keyboard, so who cares? ConnectivityShortucts. Clocks? WTF?

The problem with wp7 is that no developer has access to the APIs required to make apps that are useful, so you end up with 30,000 apps you don't care about.

I wonder why they can't have access to them.. Microsoft wants their OS to succeeded right?

My point is, these are just some of the basic simple things that I looked for and cannot find in marketplace, and my question is- why aren't they there?

clarify:
Work schedule=built in calendar...its a great calendar but you can't see events in month view. So why can't I find a simple month view calendar that I can pin to the homescreen?
Different keyboards... its a good keyboard but there are several reasons why I'd like to try a different one. Size, haptic feedback, the fact you can't turn down the sound w/o turning down whole phone, keyboard dissapearing while typing.
Connectivity shortcuts...to save battery, easily switch to wi-fi, one switch for location. Why wouldn't you want that?
Clocks...I can't believe no one has developed a double-wide tile clock, digital or analog, to pin to the home screen. You can't tell me no one would download that.

This is not entirely correct. Microsoft opened up a good bit with the release of Mango. Essentially Mango is the launch of Windows Phone in terms of apps.

I thought there was a clock in the top right? There is also a clock on the lock screen. You need a 3rd? Are Devs able to make double wide tiles?

There's also a built-in alarm clock, yet there are about 50 of them in marketplace..

Have you not paid attention to Android? There is an obsession with redundancy. Clock in notification, clock on lock, and quite a few people have a clock widget too. But, yes. Devs can make tiles double wide. Its actually rare though.

on a side note:https://market.android.com/details?id=info.tikuwarez.launcher3&hl=en

lol

Now that I think about it this might not be possible because of Microsofts background process restrictions.

There is a good explanation of this, how/what would update the tile? Would you like to waste battery by hitting your phone with push notifications every minute?

Background Agents aren't up to the task because they run, at most, once every 30 minutes.

So yeah, its not possible right now.

WP Shortcut Tiles-excellent but apparently he doesn't like "links" to the settings menu...

I guess no one thinks a good old fashioned calendar, where you can easily view the days of the month, would be an app worth having..I just don't get it. Well at least there's a bunch of apps for fart sounds and alarm clocks..so it's all good.
Ever if there were a month-view calender that let you put notes or whatever in each day box you probably still wouldn't be able to read the text unless you were using a device with at least a 4" display.

Because there already is a "link" to the settings menu..its called "the settings tile". How redundant is it to pin 3 or 4 extra "shortcut" tiles to your home screen when 1 tile (settings) takes you to the same thing?

Hey it saves one extra button push!

Just trying to help...

And we get your gripes-but remember the OS is only a year old..
