Tired of waiting for your 950/950XL firmware update? You can get it now!

@pepperdotnet

Thank you for the info. I just got my single sim international 950XL. It's running very well and has the firmware update before the one you listed here. You should know that when I got my 950XL I immediately plugged it into my computer and let the firmware and OS updates happen via WDRT. I ended up with your listed firmware of 01078.00038.16025.390xx ... then I continued the setup and restored from backup. Works great.

Both of you have nuts of steel. I am happy you asserted dominance.

Yah my 950xl runs great so I rather wait. I paid over $1k CAD after the 2 year warranty.

I've done android rom flashing and rooting, but I never cared about my android devices. And MS has its quirks so I'll stick to waiting haha.

Looks interesting, but i prefer to wait official updates, because my phone works just perfectly in every corner....

hahaha, its actually pretty easy to do following the great instructions given. I think all the 950's are all the same phones, the unlocked ones anyways so I don't think you have to worry to much about different firmware as there is nothing carrier specific to them, radio's are probably all the same.

Thanks for the guide. Went from 059x505 to 059x5P5.

My 950XL finally upgraded from Firmware 01078.00027.15506.02005 to 01078.00038.16025.39005. I hope this fixes some of the ridiculous Bluetooth problems I have with my 950XL + Band (Gen1) + Car.

This firmware update via this path doesn?t wipe your device does it?
I did the firmware update by changing the Windows Insider app to the "Production" lane. It did not require a reboot and the software went directly into the Windows Update screen. The firmware updated, the phone OS installed (moving gears) and finally opened back into the Windows Home page. The firmware update that installed on my Lumia 950XL, dual sim in the USA on AT&T is 01078.00027.15506.02005.

Be sure to go back into the Windows Insider app and reset the setting back to the Fast Lane for updates from MS. The app was updated as well.

So, I have 01078.00027.15506.02014.

Seems a little different than what is referenced by anyone above. I suppose I'm one version old?

Just wanted to point out that after the reflash I could not find my ringtone (The Shakes). I did find a copy in the net.

Looks like some ringtones are region specific.

Darn, if this resource was available just a bit sooner.....
Might have been a game changer for me.
Have already returned my 950 XL Dual Sim.
Great resource, Kudos to Pepperdotnet.

Anyone else having problems installing this? I download the firmware update (950XL, Thailand, single SIM), restart when asked, the cogs appear and the update is installed. Device restarts, lock screen appears, I unlock the device and I just get 'Loading....' and no actual Start Screen,

Any thoughts?

Should be fine to do this, it's similar to what we did in the past using Nokia tools to flash phones.

Doubtful, since you'd reverse it and wipe the device back to its original state before sending in for repair.

Great and easy procedure although I'm a bit late on the uptake... :unhappysweat:

Something to mention: Flashing firmware isn't to be taken lightly and shouldn't even be done unless you have a problem or a need and the new ROM addresses the issue, very similar in fact to flashing BIOS on your motherboard.

at least some people got it right lol I try by the instructions and I put a US code for my Lumia 950 XL Dual Sim black and made sure I had the right path for the fcc or ffc which ever how you spell it and changed the product code that I wanted and all I got was Operation Failed :( I try 3 times same results.... :(
