Took the plunge today

My hesitation would be having a 2 year contract on a phone that, given the turmoil and fast moving changes with WP,/Microsoft might not be a good long term choice. I like my Icon but TWO YEARS?? At least consider Edge pricing so if something very cool comes out in the next year, you can upgrade again.

im on a 6 month rotation at the moment so yeah 2 years is a long time & you will have paid twice what the phone is worth by the time you finished.
im sure you could get a better deal even trying an interest free offer from an electronics store

The only stipulation with the Edge program is i would have to switch to the family share plan. I only have two smart phone and two feature phones. My wife is the other smart phone, and her current phone works just fine and she really doesn't want to give up her unlimited data. I used to be the type to REALLY try my best to get the newest devices, but I've mellowed down. The icon will be perfect for me for two years i think, and if anything i can sell it on craigslist and use that cash to buy a new phone at retail price, and that's if i really get bored with the Icon. I'll treat it how i treat steam games. Never buy them when they first come out, chances are 6 months down the road i can buy it dirt cheap

I almost forgot. The two feature phones, my wife and i use those upgrades for ourselves since it is cheaper to just buy a feature phone than use the upgrade. We have one in November up and one July next year

UPDATE: Well found out today I was lied to. Called Customer care to make sure everything was in order, he told me that
1. I DO have to go to Verizon Edge
2. I have to sign up to family share.

Was not told this over chat. I even emailed them my chat with him showing them that's what i was told, they said "sorry, we can't do that"

great, Thanks Verizon. Looks like im going to buy the phone outright then.

UPDATE #2: Well after being transferred by that A hole to technical support to cancel my order, they told me that first guy i talked to was an *****. The Max program does not require Edge if you are upgrading. He went and added it on and guaranteed my 6GB and was even going to see if i could get bumped to the 8GB for the price of 6 for my troubles. So....maybe happy ending? we will see.
