Touchpad: Skylake vs. previous version

I currently have an early 2015 i7 XPS13 with the high resolution touch screen. I haven't been using it too much because the touchpad just isn't great (I should say that I also have a 13" retina Macbook Pro).

I've read that the touchpad in the Skylake version has been improved. Can someone confirm this? Especially someone who can compare it to the previous gen and / or a Mac?
