Open messages click the 3 dots and click settings. It will ask you to ad an account. Use your MS account and sign in. Once signed in go to settings in messages and choose on for sync messages between devices, then choose any time from the down-pull from download messages from. This option also has to be activated first on your former device. It´ll take some time for all messages to sync.
